Program Overview

If you work in public safety, corrections, or government — or you're looking to move into that world — this degree is built for you. William Woods University's BS in Criminal Justice is a fully online, 120-credit program taught by instructors who have worked behind the badge and understand what today's agencies actually need. You can focus your studies in law enforcement, homeland and industrial security, or cybersecurity — and in some cases, choose to double major in a related field like political legal studies. What You'll Learn

You'll start by building a strong foundation in criminal law, criminology, criminal procedure, ethics, corrections, and juvenile justice — the core knowledge every criminal justice career is built on. Then you'll go deeper by choosing a focus area that fits where you want to go.

A law enforcement focus prepares you for work in policing, corrections, and community supervision. A homeland and industrial security focus covers protective intelligence, security operations, and threat assessment. A cybersecurity focus builds skills in cybercrime investigation and digital security — one of the fastest-growing areas in the field today.

Career Preparation

This degree may open doors to roles like Police Officer, Correctional Officer, Probation and Parole Officer, Intelligence Analyst, Paralegal, Cybersecurity Specialist, and Homeland Security Agent — across federal, state, and local levels.
