William Woods University: Transcripts

This article will help you understand William Woods University's transcript and transfer credit policies and processes.

How many credits can a student transfer?

William Woods will accept up to 90 credits for a bachelor’s program if credits are from another 4-year institution. If it were a 2-year institution coming in for a bachelor’s, it would be up to 70. For an associate degree, the maximum number of credits that could be transferred is 45.

How do I submit transcripts?

After you submit your application, you will need to submit all transcripts to William Woods University.

You can submit unofficial or official transcripts to William Woods University. While we recommend submitting official transcripts, you can use your unofficial transcripts to enroll in your first term.

Official Transcripts: Please check your previous school(s) website for more information on ordering your official transcripts. Often, transcripts can be ordered from Parchment or National Student Clearinghouse. If these two options are unavailable, you may need to request that your previous school send transcripts via US postal mail.

To ensure the most accurate degree plan, it is encouraged to submit your official transcripts. WWU assesses transferable credits exclusively from official transcripts.

Unofficial Transcripts: If you have a copy of your transcripts from previous schools, you can submit unofficial to global.admissions@williamwoods.edu. Keep in mind, you will need to submit official transcripts before next term.

What's an official transcript?

Transcripts are considered "OFFICIAL" when they are sent directly from the previous institution where the credit was earned and remain unopened.

What should I do if I cannot request a transcript from a previously attended school?

Students are unable to waive transcripts. If you have a hold on your student account at a previously attended school that impedes your ability to request an official transcript, you must work with the school to clear the hold before enrolling in your next term at WWU.

If your previous school has closed, please contact the Department of Education for the state of the previous school you attended.
