Program Overview
Program highlights include specific work on developing and evaluating adult learning programs, synchronous and asynchronous collaborative work with peers and professors, a weekly optional virtual evening session with your professors to receive help and feedback, and the possibility of finishing your dissertation by the end of your last course.
As a doctoral student in the program, you will engage in a hands-on graduate experience focused on effective strategies to train, educate, and lead adults to reach their full professional potential. A hallmark of this program is the chance to learn from and collaborate with scholar-practitioners in the adult learning field, as well as to work alongside peers on critical issues affecting adult learners.
To better meet the needs of students, WWU's program includes a 16-week Applied Dissertation Project, providing practical experience in place of a traditional dissertation.
