Program Overview

The Ed.D. Curriculum and Instruction program is designed for student practitioners who want to develop a superior level of pedagogical competence and expertise in their professional field with an emphasis on practice, leadership, and adult training. This option provides an understanding of the contextual application of research to practice and culminates with a real-world curriculum capstone project (dissertation) and presentation. Students seeking an EdD may utilize existing context specific data to complete their dissertation. There is no expectation for students to add information to the existing body of literature in the five-chapter dissertation. 

Designed to be both efficient and convenient, this online program has been created for busy parents and professionals.  Offering both flexibility and affordability, the 5-week courses within this program are designed to fuel career goals with minimal disruption to work and life schedules.  

Credits to Complete 54 credits If student enters program with a master's degree.
24 credits If student enters program with an Ed.S.

What You'll Learn

Students will acquire the content, pedagogical, and/or professional knowledge relevant to developing curriculum and instruction.  Upon completion of the program, students will be able to know, apply, and measure the use of learning theory, to include the social, emotional, and academic dimensions of students.  They will engage and reflect upon various regionally specific and culturally responsive practices, including intersectionality of race, gender, ethnicity, and class. Students will acquire understanding on how to foster positive learning and work environments for students and teachers.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Completed an official master’s degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Completed application
  • Official transcripts with a GPA of 2.0 or higher
  • The Admissions Committee may review student qualifications and conditionally/provisionally accept students who do not meet the above requirements

COST: The cost with the discount is $560 per credit hour, which has been reduced from $780 per credit hour.
