What You'll Learn

 You'll develop clinical knowledge and skills to apply for certification as an adult gerontology acute care nurse practitioner. Students will learn fundamental knowledge and skills in clinical decision-making, advanced practice specialty procedures and skills for acute care, evidence-based practice, and much more. Clinicals will be a requirement of this certificate.  
 

Career Preparation

 Built for nurses who already hold an MSN, graduates may pursue AGACNP roles in hospitals, ICUs, and specialty practices. Board certification is required for practice.  

All didactic (lecture) classes are delivered online with 585 required clinical hours.

Program Admission Requirements

  • Graduate nursing degree from an accredited institution required.

     

  • Active RN, unrestricted license in your state of residence required. (Note: Holding a multi-state, compact state license and being a resident in a compact license state will be deemed to have met this requirement).

     

  • Eligible states include all U.S. states except Kansas, New York, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming.
